FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Browse our FAQs to find quick answers to the most common questions.
Why does my tablet show a “Waiting for Status” error message? Start by opening the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and updating any pending apps, then wait for those updates to finish. Next, open the tablet's Settings app, search for "Reset" using the magnifying glass, and select "Reset Network Settings." Confirm through the prompts until you see a brief notification confirming the network settings have been reset. Restart the tablet by holding the power button and selecting "Restart." Then power cycle your plates and wait until the lights flash blue, white, and green in a fast pattern. Finally, reconnect to the plates as usual through the Hawkin app, then reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
How do I test in offline mode? Open your tablet's Wi-Fi settings and disconnect from your local network, keeping Wi-Fi enabled. This lets your plates stay connected to the Hawkin Capture app while you work without an internet connection. Once connected, you'll see a yellow "Working in Offline Mode" banner at the top of the app, confirming you're ready to test. When you're finished, avoid logging out or updating the app. Reconnect to a secure network, reopen the app, and your data will upload to the cloud automatically.
How do I reset my password? To reset your password, visit cloud.hawkindynamics.com, enter your email address, and select Forgot Password. If you're currently logged in, first log out by selecting the settings icon. You will then receive an email with instructions to create a new password.
What are tags, and when should I use them? Tags are custom labels applied to standard Hawkin test types to indicate a different testing condition. By creating and applying a tag, users can distinguish tests performed under specific circumstances while maintaining consistency within the Hawkin testing framework. Use tags whenever a testing condition differs from the standard Hawkin protocol.
How do I create an API token?

To generate an API key, log in to your account at cloud.hawkindynamics.com. Select the Settings icon, then navigate to Integrations. On the Integrations page, click the teal + button. In the dialog window, enter a name for your API key and select Create Key. Be sure to copy and securely store the API URL and Token when they are displayed, as they cannot be viewed again after the dialog window is closed. Please note: Only the Organization Administrator can create API tokens.

How do I move an athlete to a different group? Within Hawkin Cloud, go to the Athletes tab and select the athlete you'd like to move. Click the pencil icon next to their name to open their profile, where you can deselect and select the teams or groups they belong to. Be sure to save before closing. Please note: moving an athlete does not carry their historic data to the new team or group unless that data is re-run.
