DR. JOHN MCMAHON

Dr. John McMahon is an award-winning educator and internationally recognised researcher who specialises in applying biomechanical measurements to the physical profiling and strength and conditioning of athletes. Formerly a Lecturer and later Associate Professor at the University of Salford, John has accumulated extensive experience in both academic leadership and applied practice since 2013. In 2023, he was named Educator of the Year by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and in 2025, he received the Master International Strength and Conditioning Practitioner distinction from the International Universities Strength and Conditioning Association (IUSCA) for his impact on the profession. John has co-authored 136 peer-reviewed journal articles, 30 book chapters, and 3 textbooks. An accredited strength and conditioning coach since 2010, he brings over 15 years of practical experience to complement his academic expertise. John now applies this blend of theory and practice in his role as Director of Innovation at Hawkin Dynamics.
